*blows into mic* Is this thing on? *tap tap*
I've been gone for some time, I realize that. And in this time, I decided to reinvent myself and my blog. This little slice of the internet that was once my makeup haven will now hold wax, nail polish, AND makeup reviews. I've recently become obsessed with indie and small business scented wax and wanted to share my love with the rest of you. I have a new (2nd) Instagram account @melt_all_the_things which is where I dedicate time to my new found love of wax. There is quite the community for it as well. Who knew?
Speaking of Instagram, Amy from a brand new company called Luna Wax, reached out to me and ask me if I'd review her wax. It made perfect sense because she was new to being a wax vendor and I'm new to reviewing wax. win/win
Let me introduce you to Luna Wax! Luna Wax is an Etsy store based out of Washington. Luna Wax launched on Sept. 22nd and has an small but mighty offering of parasoy wax. I'm excited to see what Amy comes up with over time! Keep your eyes peeled for a coupon code at the end of this post!

(be sure to click images for maximum awesome!)
Amy's scents range from fruity, sugary sweet to rich coffee blends. What makes her wax so fun and special is the cute little shapes that Amy makes for your wax. You're able to choose from a owls, piggies, dinosaurs, and floral shapes. Her prices range from $2.00 to $5.50 depending on the size and amount of wax shapes you desire.
I received the following scents to try out in varying shapes and received 3 mini melt in each baggie except for Indian Summer and Berry Bewitching Brew- those are both full sized piggies.*be still my heart*

My thoughts on the scents!
Chocolate Birthday Cake: I immediately smell chocolate cake frosting mixed with a hint of cocoa puffs. I am not mad at this scent and really want to melt it with a cream cheese frosting or cupcake wax.
Indian Summer: I wasn't sure how to feel about this scent at first. At first sniff, I smelled the basil above all else. After letting the wax sit for a few days now, the strawberry and pear come shining through allowing the stronger base notes to settle into the background.
Bonfire Bliss: I had never smelled Bonfire Bliss before joining the wax community and now I know exactly what it is and what it SHOULD smell like. Amy hit it dead on. Bonfire Bliss is the quintessential Fall scent. It's deep, woodsy, and mysterious while also giving you hints of marshmallows roasting over a campfire on a cool Autumn evening.
Berry Bewitching Brew: I am a Satsuma scent fanatic and this scent gives me just a hint of the citrus I might expect in Satsuma mixed with berries and topped with a slight smokey base note.
Orange Cream Cupcake: as you would expect, this scent smells just like an orange creamsicle but kicked up a notch. The orange is very much the top note in this scent but it does not punch you in the nose because the creamy notes mellow it nicely. It's almost mouthwatering.
Blueberry Parfait: I smell a lovely, light blueberry scent (almost like blueberry yogurt) filled with delicious cream and a teeny hint of strawberry.
Mystical Fruit Medley: This is my favorite of the group. This smells like straight up fruit salad like your Mom use to make and I am not mad at this scent. In fact, I adore it.
Sparkling Ginger: I am not the biggest ginger fan, but I can appreciate that while the ginger is strong in this blend, I also smell the lemon and the spice which makes for a bubbly scent experience in my nose.
Coffee House: OK. I love coffee and I love coffee houses, but I wasn't a fan of this scent. The reason being is that it's a very strong coffee scent, which could lead way to a slightly burnt smell. In fact, it's so strong that I had to hide it from the rest of my Luna Wax because it was intermingling with the other scents and causing each one to have the slightest coffee scent to them. Since I've separated the wax, that's not an issue. If you like strong, bold coffee scents, this one is for you!
Pumpkin Crunch Cake: Mmmmm, I adore all things Fall and love pumpkin scents. This one does not disappoint. The pumpkin and cinnamon are ever so light allowing you to get the notes of cake and butter as well. It's such a delicious blend.
Citrus Bouquet: This is definitely a floral blend. I pick up the rose and gardenia immediately. I hope once it's cured, some of the other scents shine through.
Tips and exciting news!
Like with all indie wax, there is a cure time. Amy suggests that you let her wax cure (that means leave it alone and don't melt it! "But it's sooo hard!") up to 2 weeks and for the lighter scents, up to a month.
Also, in honor of Luna Wax' grand opening, use code openday10 at checkout to receive 10% off of your order. This coupon is only valid until September 29th. You can also join the Luna Wax Facebook group HERE to be kept up to date on new releases and specials!
